Most cities in Iran possess a primary mosque called the James Mosque. The Isfahan Jameh Mosque holds a special place within the ranks of Jameh Mosquesdue to its diverse design, and architecture.

Built and reconstructed onwards from 771 AD the mosque holds an enormous square faced by four walls of two-story arcades. Washing facilities and carpets for prayers are located all over the place. They only give a hint about the masses of people being able to pray similarly if necessary.

Loudspeakers are positioned all over the square leaving no single corner or angle unfulfilled of the Imans words and the prayers of the people.
