I am still struggling to take photos, portraits, of people. It’s simply not my habit. Is it the contact, being too close, being unreasonably asking for the favour, hiding behind the apparatus whereas the other person exposes himself? I don’t know – it feels strange.

Iranians, however, are most forthcoming. I’ve never experienced such open and generous people. This is a different kind of relationship. Thinking of Austrians or Brits, we are surely icebergs of emotional distrust.
