Without my contact Saloman, I wouldn't be here. He pointed me to this neighbourhood. From an architectural perspective, the colony seems strange, and definitely different than the other neighbourhoods I have visited. The houses here look sometimes rather familiar then again completely strange and out of place. It seems to be a mix of style that has settled in a conglomerate over the centuries.
The German Colony is an upscale neighbourhood in the Refaim Valley, southwest of the Old City of Jerusalem. The area was established during the second half of the 19th century by the German Temple Society. The Templars were Christians settling in the Holy Land to prepare for Messianic salvation.
