Field Diary, 3rd of August 2017
While walking the streets of Mae Sarinag (north of Thailand) Andrea encountered some people during a Buddhist prayer. I first hesitated to go there when she told me. Luckily I decided to stop reading and grabbed camera and sound recorder.

At the prayer, a mix of people was involved. There were some little monks, children between eight and fifteen, but also common people of all ages. People were either sitting on the floor or on little plastic chairs – the ones usually used in street food locations.

The building that hosted the prayer was a typical Thai wooden teak house. It had two storages. The upper floor with closed wooden shutters. The lower floor with a cubic structure that was kept open to the main road.
